Great trail. Encountered a bit of a sneaky climb on 23 km. With the correct gear ratio it is not a problem. Not too technical though a novice rider might have found some of the downhills challenging. Fund raiser for the church, all in all a great event. Great track friendly people.
Awesome ride out in the country side. This is a ride for the more advanced riders, the average rider can do this ride but will have to push first 1.5 km down donkeys pass.Start the ride by exiting Memel on the R34 towards Newcastle on the tar road for approx 1.5km and turn right onto the district road indicating “Sediba hiking trail”. Safety: This is a safe route to cycle , be cautious on the D96 , although quiet traffic often operate at high speed.
Permission: The Farm on the escarpment currently belong to the Geldenhuise , pre arrange. Also make arrangements with Vulintaba Country Estate.
Difficulty: 95 % HARD CORE – take a hike down the mountain if you are not a able mountain biker , this is a definite MUST DO ride!!This is a easy route beginners may take up to 4-5 hours while the more accomplished mountain biker should do it in just under or over hours at race pace.
